Support JRH with your gift of time
The ministry of the Jesuit Retreat House (JRH) is fostered by many volunteers. In addition to retreat coordinators and those who serve with JRH's Board, JRH depends on volunteers to help in a variety of areas on its campus. A list of volunteer opportunities is below (volunteer roles may be combined). If you are interested in volunteering on-site, please complete this JRH Volunteer Application and return to: Fr. Post-retreat volunteer - organize & track room keys; collect retreat materials; restock items; etc. (weekly)
Pre-retreat volunteer - help set up for events (weekly)
Data entry - help the registrar enter updates to the database (weekly)
Sacristan - help with seasonal decorations of the chapels; launder altar linens and vestments; inventory supplies; etc. (every 2 weeks)
Historian/archivist - scan, label, and organize photos; organize historical records (weekly)
Art Room coordinators - inventory materials/supplies in the art room and restock as needed (monthly)
Gardeners (outdoors) - help care for outdoor flower gardens (weekly, Apr-Oct)
Gardener (indoors) - care for plants in St. Ignatius Chapel, breezeway, Loyola, etc. (weekly)
Photographer - photograph JRH grounds each season, photograph the progress of capital projects, and photograph events so that JRH has a current and beautiful supply of photos for its website and promotional materials (2-3 hours, every 6 weeks or so)
Videographer - record and edit/produce short 2-4 minute videos for posting online (occasional)
Drone operator - shoot drone footage of JRH that can be used to promote JRH (occasional)
Carpenter - design and build a shelf/rack to hold for-sale toiletry item; other small projects are also possible
Musician - select and lead music at weekday 5 p.m. Masses
Librarian - help maintain JRH's book collection in the Loyola lounge; keep the list of library books up-to-date; assist in adding/removing books from the collection; ensure the collection is organized (bi-monthly)
